What Chicago Limo Companies Typically Charge
These are typical rates Chicago limo, party bus, and car-service operators charge — loose ranges compiled from publicly posted operator rates to help you budget. They are not prices we set, and not a quote. Treat them as a starting point and always request a quote from an operator for an exact figure.
Please read first. Prices change constantly and vary by operator, date, vehicle age, and route — these ranges may be out of date and are not offers. Weekends, peak season (prom, weddings, holidays, big game/convention dates), and suburban pickups all push prices up. Some operators include gratuity in the rate and some don't. The only accurate number is a live quote — browse operators and request quotes for your exact date, group size, and itinerary.

How limo and party bus pricing usually works
Most chauffeured vehicles — sedans, SUVs, limos, party buses — are priced by the hour with a minimum number of hours (commonly 3–4, often longer on weekends). Airport transfers are usually a flat one-way rate instead of hourly. Per-mile pricing is rare for limos and party buses; it mainly applies to charter buses and motorcoaches on longer or multi-day trips, which also commonly publish day rates (roughly $1,200–$1,700 for a ~10-hour day, by size).
What drives the price up
- Day & season: Friday/Saturday nights, prom and wedding season, New Year's Eve, and major Chicago events can add 15–30% (or more) over base rates.
- Vehicle size & class: bigger groups and newer/luxury vehicles cost more; cost-per-person often drops as the vehicle gets bigger.
- Distance & suburbs: pickups outside the city often carry a surcharge or mileage add-on.
- Extras: gratuity (commonly 15–20%, sometimes pre-included), fuel surcharges, tolls, parking, wait time, and overtime past your booked hours.
Tipping
A gratuity of 15–20% is customary for chauffeured limo and party-bus service (charter/motorcoach drivers are often tipped a bit lower in percentage given larger totals). Many Chicago operators build gratuity into the quoted rate — check your quote before adding more, and when it isn't included, tip in cash at the end of the ride.
Get an accurate price
Because so much depends on your exact date, group, vehicle, and route, the reliable way to budget is to request quotes from a few operators and compare what each rate includes. Browse by vehicle type or see all operators to request quotes.
